Visa and Entry Guide
International participants attending ASPAI 2026 should check the entry requirements for the Republic of Korea according to their nationality before making travel arrangements. Depending on nationality and travel status, participants may need to apply for a short-term visit visa, obtain K-ETA approval, or enter Korea under visa/K-ETA exemption.
Check Your Entry Type
Visa Required
Participants from visa-required countries must apply for a Short-Term Visit Visa, usually C-3-1, for academic conference participation before departure. Based on the current ASPAI 2026 organizer review, participants from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and China should pay particular attention to visa requirements. This list is not exhaustive; all participants should check the latest requirements with the Korean Embassy, Consulate, or KVAC responsible for their place of residence.
K-ETA Required
Participants who are eligible for visa-free entry but are not exempt from K-ETA may need to obtain K-ETA approval before departure. K-ETA applications should be submitted through the official website: https://www.k-eta.go.kr. The application fee is KRW 10,000, and assessment is generally completed within 72 hours, although processing may take longer depending on circumstances.
Visa / K-ETA Exempt
Some travelers may be exempt from visa or K-ETA requirements depending on nationality, passport type, residence status, or temporary exemption policy. Participants should verify their exemption status through the official K-ETA website or the Korean Embassy/Consulate responsible for their place of residence.
Passport and Application Accuracy
Before applying for a visa or K-ETA, participants should make sure that their passport is valid for at least six months beyond the planned arrival date in Korea. All information submitted in visa or K-ETA applications must match the passport exactly. Incomplete or inaccurate information may result in delays, rejection, or entry restrictions.
